AECOM Safety Officer (Contract) in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Job Summary

  • To assist Site Safety Manager to ensure the work safety in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • To assist the CRE or the Safety and Health Committee, in implementing occupational safety and health programme at the place of work

  • To coordinate periodical evacuation drills with the Contractor

  • To identify the correct preventive and protective measures to be adopted and implemented in the Site

  • To record and keep all records regarding OHS statistical data

  • To become member for the Health & Safety Committee

  • To coordinate the Internal Audit program

  • To monitor the site area and to check the correct application of OHS requirements

  • To organize and conduct periodical OHS meetings with Contractors with the participation of all site staffs and all OHS Coordinators

  • To perform regular OHS inspections to ensure that all protections and preventive measures identified are in place

  • To notify, investigate and report about any incident and near miss incident occurred on site

  • To properly record all non-conformities

  • To record and keep in the proper manner all following documents:

  • Minutes of OHS Meetings

  • Site inspections and reports

  • Health and Safety Reports

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in safety related field

  • Must have the ability and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements

  • Leadership skills including technical leadership, human relations, team building innovation and motivation skills

  • Complies with the AECOM Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) policy by adopting work practices that support SH&E programs; taking reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others; seeking guidance for all new or modified work procedures; ensuring that any hazardous conditions, near misses and injuries are reported immediately; and participating in meetings, training and other SH&E activities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A recognised Degree in Safety, Health and Environment engineering.
