Job Summary

AECOM India is seeking an experienced and proven professional to play the key role of Senior Station Engineer for Kolkata Metro Project. This individual will supervise and manage a PMC team. The qualified individual will have a strong background in project management and project delivery for transportation especially Metro/Rail projects.

The role will include:

AECOM India is currently seeking a Station Engineer for the above project. The responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following:

Job Duties:

  • Daily coordination and interaction with contractor to ensure the smooth progress of the design and construction works,

  • Documents and Drawings tracking,

  • Preparation of Site Diary Report on the Contractor’s resources and progress,

  • Carrying out the site inspection as requested by the contractor to ensure that the works being done in accordance with the approved drawings and the Contract Specifications,

  • Processing change requests,

  • Reply to the Contractor’s Processing rRequest fFor iInformation,

  • Review of the contractor’s method statement and provide responses in a timely manner,Submittal processing,

  • Review of the contractor’s drawings and provide comments;

  • Cooperating and supporting Managing the contractor to maintain good progress on site,construction management staff,

  • Certifying the contractor’s work done for monthly payment purpose,

  • Ascertainment of quantity of the works being done and resources used for additional or extra works as identified by the contractor,Claims mitigation,

  • Attend Monthly Progress Meeting and any other meeting as requested by the Prject Manager,

  • Chair the Weekly Construction Meeting with the Contractor’s Station Manager and prepare the minutes of meetings,Meeting administration,

  • Assisting the Project Manager to prepare Monthly Progress Report and any other report as required by the Project Manager,

  • Interaction with the System wide Contractors to ensure that the designated areas can be handed over from and to the contractor in a timely and orderly manner,

  • Uphold the safety standard on site as per the SHE Conditions of Contract and ensure the Contractor has implement the Contractor’s Safety Plan and Procedure,

  • Project close-out and,other tasks associated with project administration.

  • Carrying tasks as directed by the Project Manager and/or Project Director

Enforce ethics and compliance policy including Third Party payment, Sub-consultancy engagement process and Gift and Entertainment policy

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering Graduate with minimum 7 years of experience with minimum of two years of previous underground metro construction experience.

  • Ensures conformance to quality, performance, safety and/or code requirements.

  • Ideal candidate will be organized, have a strong sense of urgency and quick follow up, driven by results, and have a positive attitude.

  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good knowledge in CADD and Microsoft Office packages,

  • Microsoft project or Primavera,

  • Good report writing skill,

  • Ability to understand the contractual relationship with and obligations of the Engineer and the contractor,
