Responsibilities:

The duties of the Resident Assistant Clerk of Works shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Responsible to the Consultant (the Supervising Officer) and Clerk of Works to carry out the duties of an Assistant Clerk of Works under the direction of the Clerk of Works and in accordance with Site Administration Handbook.

  • Assist Clerk of Works in the supervision of contract works and maintain all site records.

  • Assist in the control of woks supervisory grade staff.

  • Monitor labour resources, progress, materials and equipment used on site.

  • Responsible for the upkeep of site records including site record books.

  • Liaise with the project team, utility companies and other government departments on site.

  • Check whether the correct materials and equipment have been delivered to site by contractors and that only those approved material and equipment are installed.

  • Witness on-site tests as required by the contract and record the results in the site record book.

  • Identify discrepancies in the contract documents and report to his supervisor.

  • Check site safety and environmental protection issue on site and report to his superior in case of any non-conformity occurred.

  • Attend site audits as required.

  • Monitor the progress of building outstanding works and defects rectification works.

  • Carry out all such other duties as directed by the Supervising Officer’s representatives.

Minimum Requirements

The minimum qualifications required for the post of Resident Assistant Clerk of Works shall be as follows:

  • Degree in civil/ structural/ geotechnical engineering.

  • Two years’ relevant post-qualification experience;

  • Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2

  • or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) /Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent.

or

  • Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College/ Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent in civil/ geotechnical engineering.

  • Five years’ relevant post-qualification experience including experience in inspection of civil/ geotechnical works.

  • Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2

  • or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) /Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent.

  • Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.]_

An employment contract of minimum 32 months with salary offered in accordance with the appropriate Government pay scale point.
