Job Description

  • Lead the development of electrical designs, spanning from initial concepts to meticulous detailing.

  • Take charge of creating design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for design projects. Additionally, review materials prepared by junior engineers.

  • Prepare comprehensive design reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.

  • Execute on-site electrical service surveys with precision.

  • Collaborate with Professional Engineers in establishing connections, preparing, and following up on Authority Submissions.

  • Coordinate with local government departments to secure design project approvals.

  • Foster relationships and coordinate with Clients, Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, System Contractors, Civil Contractors, QS professionals, and more to bring electrical building service designs to life, from inception to intricate detailing.

  • Assume the role of Project Manager, overseeing projects from their conceptual stages to their successful completion.

  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers.

  • Assist in the preparation of competitive tenders and bids.

  • Exhibit and offer your technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Possession of either a Master's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • A track record of a minimum of 7 to 10 years of design experience, specifically within the context of construction or infrastructure projects, commensurate with relevant expertise.

  • Proficiency and a strong grasp of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process, including the ability to execute design projects within a BIM environment, manage information on a shared data platform, establish workflows for MEP modeling, produce sheet drawings, and manage asset data.

  • Candidates with prior experience in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure projects, such as metro and railways, will be given preference.

  • Proven experience in executing design and construction projects within a BIM environment, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of BIM tools such as REVIT and CAD.

  • Proficiency in working with BIM at different levels of detail, including 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, and Levels of Development (LODs) ranging from 200 to 400.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting virtual coordination with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

  • Experience in coordinating system interfaces and managing multidisciplinary interfaces.

  • Familiarity with local building codes and the procedures for submitting designs to relevant authorities.

  • A collaborative team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to junior engineers.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong technical writing skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of specialized engineering software, including Dialux, Hevacomp, Ricoda, Amptech/ETAP.
